CONTRACT STAFFING

For some hospitals, the best solution is to contract for staffing of the Hospitalist program. If your facility is large enough (usually at least 100 beds) and your management is operating at maximum capacity already, you may wish for a Hospitalist program, but feel your hands are tied beyond wishing. If you have a Hospitalist program that fits in the 40% of existing groups that are “dysfunctional”, outside control may be a viable option. If you’re suffering from high turnover, or having continued difficulty contract staffing may be your best option.

Contract staffing for your Hospitalist program provides several benefits:
      • Removes the employment issue.
      • Implements a buffer for potential Stark issues.
      • Removes the hassles coordinating the schedules of multiple physicians.
      • Provides a fixed cost for your budgeting convenience.
      • For start-up programs, allows management to “watch and learn” first.

Southern Hospitalists can provide contracted services tailored to the needs of your hospital, your medical staff and your community.
      • Planning
      • Recruitment
      • Contracting
      • Maintenance

At the end of the contract term, your hospital can elect to extend the agreement or take over a stable Hospitalist program.

Hospitalist is a relatively new specialty, with great growth expectations and almost constant transition. We believe that Southern Hospitalists can bring all the advantages of a Hospitalist program to your facility and community at a cost that you can afford.
